We thrive at the crossroads of architecture, fabrication, innovation, and technology, seamlessly integrating these elements to craft visionary spaces.

The goal wasn't to design a pool, a bar, or an out The goal wasn't to design a pool, a bar, or an outdoor deck.

Those are just pieces of the project.

What interested us was how an existing restaurant could become more of a destination. A place where dinner naturally turns into drinks, where people stay a little longer than they planned, and where the experience extends beyond the dining table.

That's what this expansion is really about.

The bar, pool, and deck all play different roles, but together they create a series of experiences that give people more ways to use and enjoy the property throughout the day.

The bar brings energy into the evenings. The pool creates a more relaxed atmosphere. The deck opens everything up to the landscape and creates new places to gather.

Individually they're simple moves. Together they create something much larger than the sum of their parts.

When we work on hospitality projects, we're usually not thinking about how many features we can add. We're thinking about how people will actually use the space, how they'll move through it, how long they'll stay, and what makes them want to come back.

Over the next few weeks we'll be sharing more of the design thinking behind the Poolside Project, including some of the details and decisions that helped shape the overall experience.

Stay tuned for more details...

This lobby rethinks the threshold between inside a This lobby rethinks the threshold between inside and out, using form as a wayfinding tool rather than signage. A continuous ceiling gesture draws you inward, shaping the experience from entry to elevator.

Instead of adding elements, the design focuses on a single move: a flowing plane that organizes the space, softens the scale, and creates direction. A saturated green insert punctuates the volume, bringing contrast and extending the gesture beyond the building envelope.

The result is a space that feels intuitive, where circulation, identity, and architecture align.

Now moving into construction.

Framing the Capitol with our steel canopy is what Framing the Capitol with our steel canopy is what inspired the curve. It was meant to feel subtle, almost like a quiet wink to the beauty and history of Austin. We centered the curve intentionally so sightlines naturally frame the Capitol and pull your eye toward the view.

The bar under the canopy was a complex piece to design. It flows from bench seating into bar seating, allowing for loose tables and lower seating where people can sit back and enjoy the view, while still offering bar height seating for those who want a completely unobstructed perspective.

Everything we designed for the rooftop was driven by one thing taking in those views.

Follow us for more behind the scenes design thinking and future forward architecture.

Here is our custom canopy design for a high rise i Here is our custom canopy design for a high rise in downtown Austin.

The canopy was designed with intersecting structural T’s, so the canopy could be fabricated in pieces and craned up and field welded.

The rooftop was reinforced to anchor the canopy and carry the new roof occupancy.

The red portion of the canopy (arch) was custom fabricated and welded later in place.

Stay tuned to see the final product.
