Twenty floors up, a few blocks from the Capitol. Twenty floors up, a few blocks from the Capitol.

We kept the canopy as thin as we could, so that from inside, nothing gets in the way of the view. The yellow niches turn toward the windows. The gym is a quiet room, set apart. The palette stays light and lets the city do the rest.

A rooftop that used to sit empty now is filled with people.

More to come: aerials and the details, in the posts ahead.

The lobby used to feel dated. Old wood, old tile, The lobby used to feel dated. Old wood, old tile, and a ceiling that felt tall but not welcoming.

We pulled the wood veneer down to align with the mezzanine instead of running it the full height of the atrium. Makes the space feel like it’s sized for people. Added soft, rounded vertical lights on the walls to draw your eye up without losing that human scale. And the elevator entry now has a large format porcelain tile with a marble look, so the first thing you see when you walk in feels upscale.

Small moves, but the whole space reads differently now.

Another look at this one. The concrete and timber Another look at this one.

The concrete and timber fins keep changing character as the light moves through them. We’ve left the wildflowers at the base alone on purpose, letting them grow in against the geometry instead of tidying them up.

Still early days on this study, but it’s a direction we’re excited to keep pushing.
